Dustin & Ashley 9.25.10

What a beautiful (and warm) wedding! I wanted to share of few of my favorites that I have come across. Ashley, you were a gorgeous bride! Thank you for letting me be a part of the most important day for you and Dustin!

Daddy kisses :)

This next picture is one of my favorites. Ashley's mom presented her with the promise ring that she wore when she was dating Mr. Yates! It was such a sweet, emotional moment. I felt so honored to be there!

I love these next two of Ashley and Dustin! They met each other before the wedding at a private gazebo overlooking the beach. It was so beautiful and so sweet!

Look at those sun rays shining down on Ashley and her dad!

It was a perfect day for a beach wedding!

So romantic.

I love these two Yates sisters!

Congratulations Dustin and Ashley! It was such a beautiful day!

Branches & Light workshop

All I seem to hear these days is how fast time is going. The more I hear people say it, the more I am aware of it. The days go faster and faster, and time escapes me before I realize it is gone. I'm in a season of life where I have to decide what is important and what is not. Saying no to things has always been so hard for me, but lately I find myself saying it more and more. To me that's what photography is all about. Stealing those moments of time that can be so dear, like an anniversary or birthday; or even those moments that are part of your daily life, like how your little babies rub their eyes when they wake up or their face as they read their favorite book.

I want my photography to always be something that fills me with joy and ignites my passion, but being new to this business world, it is so easy to become overwhelmed with all the details and to-do's. Trying to juggle a part-time job, my photography business, being a wife to my wonderful husband, and having time for me is becoming nearly impossible.

This Branches & Light workshop is like a breath of fresh air, a perfectly timed blessing at this point in my life and my business. I have so many questions and so many concerns, but that puts me in the perfect place. The place of needing guidance. The time when I think I can do this on my own is the time that I have stopped trusting in my Lord Jesus Christ. In the midst of this whirlwind, I am learning to place not only my life, but my business in His hands. That's where my peace comes from. I pray that I can begin to see our world how He sees it and have that shine through my art.

I really hope I can be a part of this wonderful idea that you have and share this experience, even in the newbie stages of my business :)

Welcome!

Thank you for stopping by my new blog! I am so excited to start this journey. I hope you will follow along as I explore this world of blogging and the start of my photography business. To be honest, I never thought this day would actually come. Owning a photography business was always a "down the road" dream to me, but now it's here. So I hope you enjoy, and let's start capturing memories!
